Next month the University of Connecticut (UConn) will hold a two-day cannabis symposium covering a wide variety of topics.
From March 16-17, 2023, the University of Connecticut (UConn) will hold a cannabis symposium on the Storrs campus. According to UConn’s event website (1), the Cannabis Symposium will be “a premiere event for students, scientists, educators, and members of the cannabis industry to network and share information in the emerging cannabis field.” Panel discussions, research presentations, and posters will be shared on topics ranging from plant production and delivery, biochemistry and genetics, clinical impacts, law and policy, pharmaceuticals, and the future of the industry (1,2).
“I am looking forward to presenting my hybrid micropropagation/retipping production protocol for cannabis,” said Jessica Lubell-Brand, PhD, in a recent interview with Cannabis Science and Technology® (3). “And my graduate student, Lauren Kurtz, will share findings from our work to evaluate triploid cannabis. I am also looking forward to hearing from scientists in both academia and industry about their research.”
UConn was the first in the nation to offer a university class on the fundamentals of cannabis horticulture (4).
