Event Overview:
Accurate quantifications of THC and CBD by LC-UV in drinks like beer, iced tea, sodas, and fruit drinks can be negatively impacted by several factors. The first issue lies with the stability of cannabinoids. Analytes like THC and CBD tend to bind to the inner surface of bottles and cans. Secondly, because of their low solubility in water, cannabinoids require the presence of oils and emulsifiers to keep them in solution during storage and shipping. Oils and emulsifiers like palm oil, glycerin, lecithin, and polysorbate 80 impact accuracy and tend to build up and contaminate and clog LC columns. Finally, concentrations of cannabinoids in beverages are much lower compared to other edibles, which requires an optimized extraction procedure for robust and accurate quantification.
In this short webinar, you will learn tips and tricks for simple and fast cleanup of infused beverages. As a result, you will increase your lab productivity and put a stop to strange and unpredictable results. You will also get a brief review of potency testing in chocolate, baked goods, candies, and topicals. Who said that potency testing had to be painful?!
