Cannabis Science Conference Spring 2024 will take place May 7-9, 2024 in Kansas City, Missouri and feature four dedicated tracks–analytical science, medical cannabis, cultivation, and compliance.
Cannabis Science Conference (CSC), the premier cannabis science conference event focusing on analytical science, medical cannabis, and cultivation, announced today the addition of a new track focused on compliance. The track will be chaired by Kim Stuck, founder and CEO of Allay Consulting, a compliance strategy and services provider serving the hemp and cannabis industries nationwide.
Stuck’s background on compliance makes her uniquely qualified to run this new track. She brings a regulator’s keen eye and wide-reaching knowledge on evolving compliance and safety mandates to support businesses in tightly regulated industries. Previously, Ms. Stuck held a pioneering role as the nation’s first cannabis and hemp specialist for a major metropolitan public health authority. During her tenure with the City of Denver, home to hundreds of cannabis businesses, she worked as an investigator covering cultivation, manufacturing, and retail. Her duties included facility inspections; conducting investigations into improper pesticide use and worker safety; creating regulations; instituting recalls; and public outreach. In addition to serving on several industry advisory boards, she has been a member of ASTM International’s cannabis standards committee since its 2017 inception. Stuck is also a regular writer for Cannabis Science and Technology under the “Stuck on Compliance” blog.
“Kim Stuck was a natural choice for this track and we are thrilled to have her on board,” said Meg L’Heureux, spokesperson for CSC, and the group editorial director of Cannabis Science and Technology and Cannabis Patient Care magazines. “Kansas City is in a great position as an emerging market in the cannabis space, but with that comes the need for education and lessons from experienced professionals—that’s what our conference brings to the table and what sets it apart from the rest!”
CSC is also excited to announce that several program chairs from 2023 will be returning for the 2024 events: Analytical chair Dr. Julie Kowalski, a technical consultant serving the cannabis and hemp testing markets; Cultivation chair Dr. Zacariah L. Hildenbrand, who sits on the Editorial Advisory Board of Cannabis Science and Technology; and Medical chair Cherissa Jackson, who served 23 years of active-duty military service with 10 years as a US Air Force Nurse.
The conference is accepting abstract submissions for both oral and poster submissions through January 10, 2024. Please visit the CSC website for regular updates.
