DoorDash in certain states is now offering on-demand delivery of hemp-derived THC and CBD products.
Known for servicing food orders from restaurants, grocery stores, and more, DoorDash is expanding their offerings to include hemp-derived tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) products in certain states for on-demand delivery (1). According to the company’s press release (1), customers will be able to purchase to meet their THC and CBD product demands through DashMart, Total Wine & More, ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, and more.
“With the growing demand for hemp-derived THC and CBD products, we're excited to expand access to a wide selection of products consumers crave,” Jacob Morello, Director, GM of Alcohol and Emerging Categories at DoorDash commented (1). “As preferences evolve, DoorDash can now help eligible customers find new products to safely enjoy while they unwind and recharge in the new year.”
Consumers in select states will be able to see a “CBD/THC” tab located in the DoorDash app. The press release (1) instructs app users to “…select the tab to browse and easily order from a selection of hemp-derived THC and CBD beverages, topicals, gummies and more.” The restrictions are similar to those of alcohol. The app includes safeguards regarding verifying legal age for consumption which will have the procedure of electronic ID verification (1).
DoorDash mentioned in their press release (1) that the reason for expanding their service offerings was due to a rise in consumers looking for new ways to relax. The press release further explained how(1), “According to a Harris Poll survey of U.S. adults aged 21-65, nearly 75% of those looking to de-stress in 2025 are considering incorporating THC/CBD products into their routine, with 75% also considering participating in Dry January this year.”
DoorDash listed that the top 5 most-ordered hemp-derived products purchased through the app are (1):
“To celebrate the launch, DoorDash is partnering with Cann, a leading hemp-infused social beverage company, to offer customers $2 off a multipack purchase,” the press release announced (1).
