Event Overview:
Sample introduction is one of the most critical steps in gas chromatographic analysis. In this webinar, we compare traditional headspace sampling with solid phase microextraction (SPME). The SPME-arrow technique is an optimization of the traditional SPME technique exploiting an increased adsorbent phase surface area. The increased sensitivity that is achieved by this technique allows identification and quantification of low abundant terpenes which in principle allows for better authenticity control of cannabis products by detecting compounds that are uniquely present in specific varieties. This technique also allows the use of much smaller sample volumes which is of interest when limited sample is available. In this webinar, the validated headspace and SPME-arrow techniques used in our laboratories are compared regarding their analytical precision, accuracy, reproducibility and LOQ.
