In a January 17, 2025, press release (1), cannabis edibles brand incredibles, from cannabis company Green Thumb, announced results from an online survey on cannabis consumption and sleep habits. The survey was conducted by global marketing and research firm The Harris Poll (2) from June 6 – 10, 2024 with 2019 participants total. All respondents in the survey were 21 years old or older.

Participants were asked four questions:

  1. Which of the following keeps you up at night? Please select all that apply.
  2. Which of the following, if any, do you consume to help you sleep? Please select all that apply.
  3. How much do you agree or disagree with the following statement? I wish I slept better.
  4. Which of the following are reasons why you consume cannabis-infused edibles? Please select all that apply.

The results were weighted to the general US population. Other information, such as gender, demographics, region, and income, were also included.

Notable results highlighted include:

  • 79% of respondents reported that they are kept awake at night by something (possible options included “financial worries,” “family concerns,” “insomnia,” etc)
  • 26% of respondents stated they consumed vitamins/supplements to help them sleep, 19% stated they used over-the-counter sleep aids, 16% said they used cannabis, 12% said they used prescription sleep aids, and 10% said they used CBD-only or CBD+melatonin products
  • 71% stated that they strongly or somewhat strongly agreed that they wished they slept better
  • 41% of respondents reported that they consumed cannabis-infused edibles: 25% stated it was to help relax, 21% stated it was to help with sleep, 17% stated it was to help manage stress, and 15% said it was to help with pain

The press release also highlighted the finding that parents of kids under 18 more often reported that they consumed cannabis edibles than respondents without kids under 18, and that parents of kids under 18 more often stated that they consumed cannabis to sleep better, compared with respondents without kids under 18.

“Sleeping well is essential for feeling your best,” said Green Thumb Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ben Kovler, in the press release. “More Americans are choosing cannabis for relaxation, sleep and overall well-being. Our Snoozzzeberry line is crafted with each of these aspects in mind because at incredibles, we know that when: You Snooze, You Win.”

Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Chicago, Green Thumb operates RISE Dispensaries and also features several more cannabis product brands.

The press release listed products from the Snoozzzeberry line, which featured various cannabinoids including THC, CBN, CBG, and CBN.
