Increasing evidence supports the vast therapeutic potential of cannabinoids applied in a conventional medical model. Clinicians and patients experienced in the use of herbal cannabis, however, know that cannabis is much more than a drug, and that its full therapeutic potential is not realized when it’s simply used like a pharmaceutical. In this presentation, Dr. Sulak will use the principles of integrative medicine to illustrate how cannabis can be used holistically to both treat and prevent disease, improve quality of life, and promote health, including individualized dosing plans, practical applications of natural cannabinoid acids, and therapeutic psychoactivity.
Dustin Sulak is an integrative osteopathic physician, leader in the emerging field of cannabinoid medicine, and author of Handbook of Cannabis for Clinicians: Principles and Practice. His clinical practice focuses on treating refractory conditions in adults and children. Dr. Sulak received undergraduate degrees in nutrition science and biology from Indiana University, and a doctorate of osteopathy from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Sulak is the co-founder of Healer.com, a cannabis and wellness education resource.

Ep 24, Part I: Data Transparency in Cannabis Testing with Yasha Khan
November 21st 2024Evan Friedmann interviews Yasha Khan, co-founder of MCR Labs, about his journey into the cannabis industry and his efforts to promote transparency and integrity in laboratory practices. Yasha discusses the origins of MCR Labs, which began in Massachusetts to meet the needs of the soon-to-be legal medical cannabis market. He explains the challenges faced, including result manipulation by labs and the impact on public health. Yasha's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) project aimed to gather testing data from 37 states, revealed significant discrepancies in potency and mold results. Despite some states' reluctance to share data, Yasha has made much of this data public, leading to collaborative research and publications on various aspects of cannabis testing.
