Study Examines Effects of CBD on Inflammatory Bowel Disease Symptoms in Women

A recently published study examined the effects of cannabidiol (CBD) on symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis (1). The cross-sectional survey collected data from adult women, those who used CBD and those who did not, on the severity of the disease and quality of life.

Efficacy of High-CBD Vaginal Suppositories for Menstrual-Related Symptoms: A Quasi-Experimental Study

In a September 2024 published study, researchers examined the efficacy of a hemp-derived, broad-spectrum, high-CBD (100 mg) vaginal suppository in treating menstrual-related symptoms. The study was funded by Foria/Praxis Ventures, which was the brand of suppository used in the study.

Cannabis and Managing Endometriosis Pain: Survey Highlights Patient Experiences

A recently published study from September 2024, examined how cannabinoids can be used as a therapeutic treatment for the chronic inflammatory disease, endometriosis (1). As explained in the study’s introduction, research suggests that the pathophysiology of the endocannabinoid system and endometriosis are connected. Researchers aimed to gauge how often cannabis was used to alleviate pain from endometriosis and if it helped reduce pain medication use.
