Long Island opened up its first recreational dispensary.
Recently, Long Island welcomed its first cannabis dispensary targeted for recreational use. The stores’ location is in East Farmingdale and is called “Strain Stars” (1).
It is a family-owned business and becomes the 19th cannabis dispensary to open its doors in New York. The Empire State legalized recreational cannabis in 2021 but surprisingly, only 4 towns on Long Island have accepted to permit retail stores.
New York State has given priority for licenses to individuals with a prior cannabis conviction or to their relatives.
